Limu Limu Lima

A short motion graphic project, spanning from initial pitch to storyboard, animatic and final production.

The initial idea was inspired by the song "Limu Limu Lima", a traditional Swedish lullaby, as it is performed by the group Kraja. While the project progressed, the story and storyboard went through multiple changes, finally resulting in the product presented further below.
Concept
A brief look into a young girl's nightmare, where she awaits the break of dawn to chase away the monster that haunts her.
The character designs were also altered numerous times since the first style frame, adapted to suit the desired atmosphere and animation style.
The designs were created with Adobe Illustrator and then animated in After Effects, where live action elements were also added. Only the opening and closing shots (depicting the "real world") were created through rough rotoscoping in Photoshop, to give the two places distinctly different looks while still maintaining an eery atmosphere for both.
Final edits and sound design were added with Premiere Pro.
